Welcome to MK STUDIO
How nice of you to step in to our virtual world porcelain, clay, glaze and hot kilns. We're happy to have you. It's a lot cooler here compared to the workshop where the kiln is blazing at 1260°C. At MK Studio we work hard to give you the best ceramic experiences.

OUR HANDS MAKE COOL STUFF
We are Magdalena & Michal.
Magdalena is a ceramicist, Michal is a chef. We met in Poznan in Poland, we fell in love and now we call Copenhagen home. Here we make fun, colourful and high quality ceramics together. Thanks to the marriage of these two fields – gastronomy and art – we have a unique insight on what's functional, what's beautiful and what's cool right now. If you like what you see come and pop by at our studio, follow us on social media or get in touch.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Copenhagen Offers Ceramics That Are as Appealing as Its Cuisine
"A great first stop for one-of-a-kind pieces is MK Studio, the airy workshop of the ceramist Magdalena Kaluzna-Wlodarek, which doubles as a shop stocked with a dazzling array of cups and serving dishes. Depending on what Ms. Kaluzna-Wlodarek has recently made in the adjoining studio, you might find small pitchers splashed in emerald green hues" - The New York Times

"MK Studio, a ceramics workshop that supplies discerning local restaurants, shop for hand-thrown cups, plates and bowls that blur the line between tableware and art. " - The New York Times
The Danish Ceramists Beloved by Award-Winning Chefs
"Magdalena Kaluzna was still producing porcelain in her Copenhagen kitchen when she got a call from an up-and-coming Danish chef named Kristian Baumann. He wanted her to make tableware for his new restaurant 108 — a spinoff of Noma. The 24-year-old Pole couldn’t believe her luck. Eighteen months earlier she had moved to Denmark with her boyfriend and business partner, Michal Wlodarek, after he was offered a position in Copenhagen as a chef. A fine-arts graduate, Kaluzna decided to pursue a career in pottery. In Denmark, she says, “everyone appreciates ceramics and good design.” She soon found a studio on a cobblestoned street in Copenhagen’s trendy Norrebro district, and began working on Baumann’s initial order of 1,500 plates. “I had never seen that many plates,” she laughs. As 108 grew in popularity, Kaluzna’s own star rose. Today she produces elegant, playful porcelain for several top-tier clients in Copenhagen including Relae, a Michelin-starred restaurant, and the trendy Coffee Collective chain. And she continues to develop her designs with tips and feedback from baristas and chefs: “They tell me so many things I never think about,” she says." - The New York Times
The Best Ceramics Brands in Denmark
"Mk Ceramics Studio produces work with clean lines and deep, rich colors, rendered so expertly that you’ll have trouble believing they were made by hand. The studio is a partnership between a ceramicist and a chef, so their pieces are an excellent mix of craftsmanship and functionality, specifically with an eye to making tableware for restaurants and cafes. You’ll see their work in some of the best spots in Copenhagen, including Coffee Collective. Of course you can also buy their mugs, plates, and more for your home, either online or in their studio-store." - Scandinavia Standard

At MK Studio we have no guidelines or rules. If it hasn't been done before, we'll try it to do it. If we think it's awesome, we'll do it again. If people like it, we'll keep doing it. We're having fun working with ceramics and we want you to have a lot of fun using them too.
