MANTLE – Handmade Marbled Porcelain Flat-Bed Dripper

Designed and tested in our Copenhagen studio, MANTLE is a flat-bed pour-over dripper built for even saturation and consistent extraction. Forgiving enough for everyday use and capable enough for competition brewing — the flat bed keeps water in even contact with the grounds from the first pour to the last.

The shape is one we know well. MANTLE shares its exterior form with the MK STUDIO C cup, a shape that has been part of the studio since the beginning. It is the first product we designed for our 10th year — same form, new function.

The flat bed is a system, not a fixed setup. It works with any small wave filter — Kalita Wave 155, Sibarist Flat S, or similar — with no adapters. It also seats Sibarist profiler screens and booster disks, so you can change the screen, change the resistance, and change the extraction profile. One dripper, many ways to brew.

Each piece is hand wedged before forming, which creates the marbled pattern that runs through the porcelain — no two are identical. Formed on a clay press for accuracy and durability, hand glazed, and fired at 1260°C.

MANTLE comes as a bundle with the Filter Setter, Pressor, and Base — tools that position and flatten the filter for zero bypass. Available in black, blue, and pink.

Size guide

Each piece is unique

We are making Hand-made dinnerware. Each piece is unique with a distinct appearance. Small drips and holes on a surface are not considered as defects. Matt glaze makes each item unique. Scratches and marks will occur and they are not considered as defects. Color may vary depending on firing temperature and glaze composition.

Food safety

All our ceramics are made with food grade materials, all our suppliers have all necessary EU certificates that indicates that.

Cleaning and care

Unglazed porcelain surfaces, are sometimes susceptible to light stains, unlike glazed porcelain. Frequent washing can help remove and prevent staining. All our products can be placed in the dishwasher for daily washing and care. You can also place the item in a bowl of warm water with a detergent tab. Very stubborn stains and spots can sometimes be removed with diluted chlorine and lime remover.

Dark lines in the glaze (usually caused by silverware) can be removed by scrubbing with a sponge with dish soap and baking soda. Grease stains on matte glaze can be removed with baking soda and water.

If greasy fingerprints appear, rub the exposed porcelain with food safe oils, let sit, then clean with soap and water.

It is very important (and we highly suggest) that you let boiling water settle
(stop rolling/bubbling) before pouring it into a tableware item - especially a hand made piece. If the item is very cold to the touch, we also suggest pre-heating it with hot tap water. Pouring boiling water directly into a cool handmade cup, bowl or mug
may cause the item / glaze to crack.
