The Superkop

Superkop was built to answer one question: why has making espresso become so complicated? Founded by Geert Kaal and Sabine Palinckx in the Netherlands, the machine started as a personal project — a way to replace expensive, electronics-heavy machines that kept breaking down. The goal was to get back to the basics: ground coffee, hot water, time, and pressure. Nothing more.

The Superkop generates 9 bars of pressure manually through a 1:40 displacement mechanism — six low-resistance lever strokes that take around 25 seconds from first pull to extraction. A direct lever-to-piston system pushes water through the grounds; a gas spring returns the lever when done. The transparent water chamber lets you watch the water level drop and pressure build through the full extraction. No pump, no boiler, no warm-up time. No components that burn out.

We first met the Superkop team at the World of Coffee in Copenhagen. The idea was simple enough that it was impossible to ignore. After testing it ourselves at the Danish Coffee Festival and spending some time with the team, we decided to become their partner in Denmark. This is the only place in Denmark where you can buy one.

Size guide

You can use that page as a reference to compare different sizes and pick the right one

Each piece is unique

We are making Hand-made dinnerware. Each piece is unique with a distinct appearance. Small drips and holes on a surface are not considered as defects. Matt glaze makes each item unique. Scratches and marks will occur and they are not considered as defects. Color may vary depending on firing temperature and glaze composition.

Food safety

All our ceramics are made with food grade materials, all our suppliers have all necessary EU certificates that indicates that.

Cleaning and care

Unglazed porcelain surfaces, are sometimes susceptible to light stains, unlike glazed porcelain. Frequent washing can help remove and prevent staining. All our products can be placed in the dishwasher for daily washing and care. You can also place the item in a bowl of warm water with a detergent tab. Very stubborn stains and spots can sometimes be removed with diluted chlorine and lime remover.

Dark lines in the glaze (usually caused by silverware) can be removed by scrubbing with a sponge with dish soap and baking soda. Grease stains on matte glaze can be removed with baking soda and water.

If greasy fingerprints appear, rub the exposed porcelain with food safe oils, let sit, then clean with soap and water.

It is very important (and we highly suggest) that you let boiling water settle
(stop rolling/bubbling) before pouring it into a tableware item - especially a hand made piece. If the item is very cold to the touch, we also suggest pre-heating it with hot tap water. Pouring boiling water directly into a cool handmade cup, bowl or mug
may cause the item / glaze to crack.
